A life of practical theology lived out in daily life is what this is space is about. All Things Unsaid is exactly that, a growing collection of thoughts I've mulled over for some time on what it is to live life like an authentic Christ follower. Not in name only but in action. Sometimes these are hard things and some of these might not be popular but they are always biblically centered. Join me on this journey on our way to the heart of the Father.
ABOUT
What is there to say? My name is Robert. I am a working artist, husband, father and maintainer of bees in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. City bred, I'm originally from the west coast, so the last decade or so has been a bending and pulling of what my expectations of my life was to be. I had once dreamed of life as a painter living in a big city with a grand focus on heady subjects of the human condition and creating important works in the vein as my past heroes, such as Francis Bacon & Odd Nerdrum. But, life has led me down other paths, I live with my family on some acres of land in the country and I spend my time working on turn of the century stylized children's illustrations or mending fences, tending the bees or cutting up fallen trees. (Not necessarily in that order.)
RECENT RAMBLINGS
It sometimes takes a leap of faith to step out and share your thoughts, I hope you can take something of value from all this.
“Give up yourself, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, death of your ambitions and favorite wishes every day and death of your whole body in the end: submit with every fiber of your being, and you will find eternal life. Keep back nothing. Nothing that you have not given away will ever be really yours. Nothing in you that has not died will ever be raised from the dead. Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.”
